TIDDLES AND ROVER TO GET DOMAIN NAMES

As we constantly monitor the domain name space on behalf of our clients, here at Demys we thought we'd seen it all. Now we think we have - with the introduction of a new service for the web-savvy moggy - domainsforyourpet.com
Registration service provider Hostway Corp. has announced the launch of the site as a new online service to "register a Web site address for your dog, cat or any other non-human companion."
"We know how passionate people are about their pets, so we think it's a doggoned good idea to have a customized Web site for showcasing your pet to friends and family," said John Lee, director of marketing for Hostway. "It's said that every dog has its day. Now every dog can have its own domain."
However, perhaps the idea it not as eccentric as it first appears. In the US there are an estimated 65 million dogs and 75 million cats and in the UK 7.7 million cats and 6.6 million dogs. So there's a potentially huge unexploited demographic in the highly competitive domain reselling market just waiting to be tapped.
