New.net Launches Fundraiser Program
September 11, 2003
Domain name registrar New.net (new.net) has developed a fundraiser program to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a charity that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
New.net said yesterday in a release that it would donate $2.00 to the Los Angeles chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation for every New.net domain name sold between September 10 and November 30.
"We never imagined when we launched a few years ago that we'd be in the position to make such a difference in children's lives and help a non-profit accomplish such wonderful work," said Dan Sheehy, CEO of New.net.
New.net, a registrar of unique domain extensions that include the .travel domain, said the foundation’s need to provide travel for eight-year old Lacey Minot's wish to travel to Boston was an important reason behind the launch of the fundraiser.
