Domain reseller breaches transfer policy

The .au Domain Administration has found that Web Access, a reseller of domain name registrar Enetica, has breached the Transfers (Change of Registrar of Record) Policy.
In a media release, auDA said that in June and July, Web Access initiated over 500 transfers from Melbourne IT to Enetica without written requests or authorisation from those who had registered the domains.
auDA said it received complaints from people who did not know their domain names had been transferred. It found these people were not notified because Web Access had entered its own contact email address in the registry database instead of the email address of the person who had originally registered the domain.
